Well, I for one did not intend to bash the MS3. My MS6 has even MORE problems with mods than the MS3, which is why it is and will remain painfully stock, at least power-wise.
I think the biggest problem with mods on either car is the tendency of the MZR to blow when you up the power past 300 HP. The smoking turbo problem isn't directly related to modding, but seems more pronounced and more frequent with modded cars. The MS6 has its stupid rear diff mount bolts that like to shear, but that's our problem, not the MS3. Price we pay for being .3 seconds quicker to 60 (stock) and slower in the quarter.
Maybe it's a misconception, but I seem to read about a lot of Mazdaspeeds having problems after mods. Or maybe it's like Josh said -- they're doing it wrong.
