Hey, I might have a lead on some winter tires for the 8. I'll scope it out tonight and let you know. Bonus is that they're here in town.

So can anyone chime in who HAS All season tires or Winter tires on their RX8 and how the driving and handling was? No offense to everyone else but just trying to get a solid answer.

Welcome. I had the stock tires on two years ago and they worked ok. I have never had a true winter tire on my RX in the snow, but i choose to get an old truck with 4wd for the winter. There were several times when i was stuck or almost stuck. The best example i can think of is when i was headed home and it took me the entire light (30 sec) just to make a left toward my house. I was on a hill that i didn't know existed until there was snow and my rx started spinning.

However they say this winter won't be a bad one.

Thanks! If not I have Karl or tirerack.com as my back up. Big O Tires doesn't have ANY winter tires that fit....well they do but it's $200 a tire which is way out of my budget....same with discount tire.

Thanks! Like I said I can't wait to dress her up with some accessories. I found a website for Mazda parts and accessories that charges about $80 less than the dealer unless you all know somewhere cheaper. Here's what I'm planning on getting....

tint
side and rear aero flares
spoiler
front air dam
fender strakes
front and rear rotary accent
B-Pillar Applique
interior night lights
6-CD changer
later on down the road an exhaust system that's not too loud

I think the stock exhaust system sounds fine but am I the only 2004 RX8 with non-chrome pipes??? Maybe I just need exhaust tips?? I'm not feelin the exhaust pipes that are the same color as my bumper...

Sadly, the tires the friend of mine has are the stock summer tires. So, if anyone needs a second set, he's looking to sell, or trade for winter tires for an MR2.

Who's your source for parts?

i used to have an 04 rx-8. Spun once in snow, and that was about all for me. I have seen people that put snow tires on, and say they do ok but there not great. I would recommend some Blizzak's and then have them studded if you have to drive that car in the snow. If you can, when i snow's i would leave it at home. (<~~~works for Burt Mazda) There not good car's in the snow at all, but there fun to drive the rest of the year!

If she has the 18 in wheels, which i didn' tlook at the pics, but i'm guessing she does cause its a manual and they should be standard, i wouldn't run snow chains beacuse she would probably tare up the fenders. (*sp)

Welcome aboard! Are your tips just really, really sooty?Try some Nev'r Dull or something similar on them to shine 'em up. Seems like quite a few people have traded in 6's on RX-8's. That's pretty cool.

Maybe it is [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img] I'm a "run my car through the carwash and that's it" type of girl. I still miss my 6 though...only when I have all my kids with me of course.
