I want one!!!!!!!! Ive been thinking about putting together an AR15. However, i have never done one, so this would be my first "build". That being said, if i were to purchase one, would you be willing to run me through the other parts i need to complete the gun? I have no problem researching things like this, but I always like to get a lil bit of human advice and input on things that i have little experience with.

They were all taken by the CSC within about 15-30 mins.
Maybe next time I'll post here first for a few days and give you guys a chance before I throw it to the wolves.

I was looking for the lower thingy with the serial # needed to make it a weapon. What would you suggest?

You mean stripped "lower receiver". That's a good place to start. That is the "gun" part of the whole thing. The only piece that require background check. The rest are just parts and can be shipped directly to your house.

As far as brand goes, I'd say get whatever the cheapest as long as its NOT polymer/plastic. They are usually made out of aluminum.

To me, lower is a lower is a lower. Some people might tell you differently and tell you to get a brand name one. Well, I have a brand name one and some cheap ones that I picked up for $69 a piece and they are exactly the same. Maybe the finish is not as tough as the more expensive one but the fit is exactly the same. My rifles will get used and I don't really care if there's a scratch on it as long as it doesn't affect the functionally. With that said, I don't really have any scratches on any of my lowers... as long as you don't throw them around.

Good luck trying to find a "cheap" one now a days. If you do, let me know. I might want to pick up a few extra just to have them laying around for future projects.

Spend the money on the barrel...

Yeah, if you come across lowers that aren't $400+ do let us know. It's madness right now.
