Mazda 323 hatchback WANTED
Hi, I am looking for a standard 1986-1989 2wd Mazda 323 Hatchback. Something that is in reasonably good condition.
While I am hoping for someones Grandmothers garaged commuter I'll consider others as well.
Below is the link to my Craigslist add stating basically the same thing.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you have one or are aware of a friend, neighbor or relative who does.
Thanks,
Mark

I've gotta ask - why?
Gonna put a GTX drivetrain under it? Thanks!

Sure, Why is a good question on this particular flavor of car.
I have one that is on my rotissery that I am preparing for Pikes Peak. This will be a 2WD car with the same drivetrain as a Mercury Capri XR2 or the lesser known Mazda 323 GT.
I was looking for a good economy car as a daily driver and have quite a few new or near new 323 bits left over from the racecar project. It made sense to stick within the same family of car. The only difficulty is that its hard to find one that isnt terribly ratty.
This entire affliction started with a friend of mind that had a 323 GTX we would Ice Race. Later I owned an 89 Tracer that had a transplanted Capri XR2 drivetrain. It was much quicker than the GTX on pavement and an insane sleeper.
It goes a little deeper than that but overall that sums up the reasons I am looking for a nice little mileage master econo box.
If you know of one please pass that info along. I have been chasing the white one in the craigslist add I have posted but the owner wants GTX money for a Radio Delete plain jane 323.

MazdaMark -
Welcome! I think you are going to fit in just fine around here!
Back in the day, a friend had a 323GT. He was so proud - bought it for $23 cash (for license tags) and financed every additional cent. Yeah, the bank owned it about 13 months later. Crazy fast car - for the time.
I'll keep my eyes open for you, but, you're right - they're hard to find. Good luck!

Still Looking - Bump.
Sorta Funny story - I went on vacation right before Christmas and when I came back a week later a neighbor of mine shows up with one. Not at all the cleanest, but it runs good and has no rust issues.
Anything else I find is out of state.

Had a Call on my for a 323

I received a call on Monday about a 323 for sale by a Towing Co in Denver on my Craigs post.
They sent me some photos and it turned out they had a GTX but no idea that it was special.
I hooked them up with a local buyer who now has this car and it has been saved from going to U Pull and Pay.
I'm still looking for an Econ Box 323 but it felt pretty good to save one.
