I know there's body kits for it but I hate that front bumper with a passion lol.

I know a guy in Wichita that had his STi tuned by Cobb. They had the car for like 2 months and they had the hardest time figuring it out. They were having fuel issues and the car caught on fire several times while on the dyno. They finally traced it down to a leaky o-ring on the fuel injector. The car ran like a scalded dog though once he got it back. And the funny part is that he only kept it for a couple months before trading it in on a 350Z. The dealership called him a few days after the transaction to ask: "what the hell did you do to this thing!??!"
As far as the sound deadening thing goes, I've gone to the extreme on my last car. I removed the carpet and insulation and that asphalt sound deadening stuff. Removed the door panels, the head liner, the center console and other non-dash trim pieces. I even swapped the power windows for the ever so slightly lighter crank style windows. I removed the AC. The power door locks were removed. Another 10 pounds were saved by swapping in an aluminum flywheel. The driver seat was swapped for a light weight race bucket. The car would lap the local road course faster than several Corvettes. Not bad for a NA 4 cylinder Saturn coupe. The car was fast as hell and agile to boot but it was a nightmare to drive on the street. So with my Protege I decided to keep all the creature comforts intact and even add additional sound deadening. After my Saturn, I don't see adding sound deadening as adding weight but adding enjoyment. But of course there is a line to sound deadening- too much and you're disconnected from the driving experience and might as well be driving a Lincoln Town Car.

That's funny, I've owned both lol. Kind of odd for someone to go from an STI to 350Z, typically it's the other way around, or at least in most of the cases I've seen. Sucks about his STI though, kind of the reason I don't like to touch stock injectors if I don't have to... I actually had a leaky o-ring on one of the 565cc "pink" STI injectors (JDM, the USDM STI used smaller "yellow" injectors) on my old WRX, fortunately it was found quickly and had spare o-rings on hand (don't ask lol). Do you know what kind of injectors he was running? The Subaru world is weird when it comes to fuel, it's the only community I know that will tune a car to run near static (100% IDC) lol, most other communities don't want to run past around 85% IDC, but then again, Subies come with high quality Denzo based injectors, I've heard of cars tuned over 95% IDC and running for years without a problem... odd community.

I sat in one of these last week... Or at least tried to. I could barely get into the thing, and it practically took a pry bar to wedge my fat ass outta it. It definitely felt like it was "wrapped" around me when I was in it, though. It's gotta be a blast when you can let it rip.
