thanks for the advice.... never heard of light painting, ill try that. i was trying to get there at sunset but i also was trying to not pay $5 to get in the park... i got caught and had to drive back to the base of the park and pay the $5

That sucks. I don't know where you're located but sometimes driving up into the mountains around sunset, you can find some good pull off parking spots that will do the same thing for you without having to go to a park.
