That cloud on the inside of the windshield is called "poly vinyl fog". Basically, it's the materials used in the interior (carpet, seats, dash, door panels....) evaporating as a gas and collecting on the inside of the windshield.
I once saw a list of cars that were ranked by how toxic their interiors were. With the way engine emissions have been improving over the years, the inside of the car is going to soon be more harmful to your health than taking some hits off the tailpipe.
