Recommendations for interior detailing?

Postby christi » Sun May 01, 2011 9:14

Anyone know of a good place to take my Mazda 3 for interior detailing? I *really* need to get the seats/floor cleaned badly. Recommendations can go as far as Pueblo/C-Springs/Denver... thanks guys :)

Vail? Is that even still in CO? haha. If they're *that* good, I may just do it:P

No seriously though...
Pretty much my car needs a complete cleaning inside. I've done the plastic on the doors and dash, guages, radio, center console (which isn't put back in until I clean the inside). I've done the wheel, but with sun damage, it's not going to do much help.

I'm trying to get the car somewhat presentable for when I sell her later this year for the MS3.

What is a price-like for cleaning/detailing anyway?

Some prices range from starting $15 all the way up to $50 depending on what you want done such as steam cleaning the seats, cleaning the wheel wells/tires, shining the vinyl interior and dash etc...

Lyssa/Mog, I'll keep you two in mind, if noone has any ideas down in the south part of Colorado/Denver.

I should actually take photos of the inside of the car, to see what type of work can actually be done by the two you guys recommend, or anyone for that matter.

There's a lot of joints around town. Any of those gas stations with car washes do a decent job for a decent price. For instance, there's a joint right by Park Meadows... but I'm sure there's places down in the Springs too.

This. If all you're doing is prepping your car for a sale, this should be all that's required unless your car is trashed.

Not trashed by any means.
Mainly having a few kids (nieces/nephews) in my car, stains from ice cream, etc.

tut-you're silly.

I guess it can also come down to any good products you'd recommend in offering to detail/clean or whatever inside the 3.

Whoa...whoa! Ice cream stains. Nothing was said about ice cream stains. You'll need a specialist.

Any good spray foam cleaner for carpet/seats works well (I have a Green Machine or some kind of spot bot that I use). Just don't over-saturate them. A brush for the vents, and some warm water to clean the hard surfaces. You can use a cleaner/protectant as well. I don't like shine, so I tend to stick with warm water so the solvents don't evaporate and get the interior glass all filmed up. I use Invisible Glass for the windows. Lexol on the leather.

Thanks Tim!

Pretty much main thing is stains from kiddos and soda explosions. Don't ask - I have one up front and the other in the hatch area - what a mess ! The carpet is mainly grime (is that the word?) in the carpet. Ive yet to use a sweeper that could get it up. Pics below..

im actually thinking about starting up detailing again as a little boost in income. i used to do it professionally and i still have most the tools (rotary buffer and actual meguires cutting and polishing pads, rags and solvents galore)

ill take a look at it and do it for like 75% or something of what a shop will charge you
