Has anybody ever had their XCarLink (formerly known as AudioLink) iPod Integrator Kit totally die on them?

I bought a used one awhile back, when I first joined the forum, and I've been using it happily for a couple years now. Recently my connecting cord started to develop a short in it, and would constantly "fuzz" and cut-out audio when I would touch or move it.

Long-story-short, I ordered a replacement cord from The RPM store and the new cord arrived yesterday. I swaped out the failing one, for the new one, and almost immediately, the entire integrator appears to have shorted out. Now whenever I hit my "CD" button on my stereo to activate auxiliary mode, all I get is a "NO DISC" message on my display. It's as if the entire integrator kit is no longer being recognized as being plugged-in. (?)

Anyway.... I'm just wondering if anybody has ever had anything similar happen to them, and for that matter, if somebody actually has an integrator kit laying around, I maybe would like to take it off your hands.

If somebody REALLY wants to be awesome, what I'd like to do, is actually just test out a working one, to make sure that it's my integrator kit that's DOA, and not my actual stereo head unit, no longer recognizing the aux input. I know that's probably a longshot, but it would help me out a lot before I start spending money on a replacement that may not end up doing me any good.

Thanks ya'll!

Idunno about Mazda, but a lot of OEM head units are designed that way. Rented a Hyundai a while back and that's exactly how it was, BT for phone audio only. Probably more difficult to stream music over BT and retain quality...

When I first purchased this, I got help with the installation. Does anybody have any links or tips for how I get behind the stereo/console to get my integrator unplugged?

My car of course, is an MS6.
