Apexcone Raptor HID kit....

Just a question before I order these......will I need any other accessories with this kit???

H7 Bulb

So I went ahead and installed these today...2/2/10....I found out that the part# on the bulb is just a manufacturing # for Apexcone....As far as the install....absolutely EASY.....the hardest part was finding a place to mount the ballast....

Updated with photos.....one is the driver side and the other is passenger side.....Here are 2 pics for now you can tell the difference...I will post some night shots later....

No. I bought their kit on my 240 and it worked without any additional accessories. The kit was really easy to install also.

As long as it comes with the H7 spacer, you're good to go.

I had a headlight go out and I'm tired of the shitty stock head lights....

Well I just ordered a set of 6000k H7 HID's.....Pretty good deal $43 shipped....

I'll see how well I like them....I might order the H11 set for the fog lights also....

god I can believe how cheap HIDs are now.. My first set was $275 and that was about $100 cheaper that the regular price at the time..

That's what I said....couldn't pass that price up....plus review on some of the BMW forums was pretty positive on the HIDs

I would have suggested 4300k. Though bulbs are swappable.

It's still plenty bright at 6000k....Plus at 6000k it will be plenty brighter than stock......I believe that between 4300k and 6000k are the best for brightness....anything higher than that the color washes out and becomes purple and loses intensity...

True, 6000k is brighter than stock, but 4300k just seemed to work best for me, and I've gone through more bulbs, and ballast than I care to recall......

What brand did you buy?? Why did u have to go through so many?? What kind of warranty did they have that they didn't cover any of that?

Apexcone/ddm I went through 35w ballasts, 50w ballasts, 55w slim ballasts, 6000k bulbs, 5000k, 4300k, and 3900k bulbs. HID fogs, HID projector fogs....... I went a tad lighting crazy. Just a portion of all my changes: http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=61746.0 After all was said and done, I wasn't running anything above 4300k, and it was the best lighting performance wise, and with the clear lens swap I also had the color, people go for with the higher kelvin ratings.

Oh and I think I've only had one ballast go bad, and I think that was from an ebay kit.

So I just got off the phone with DDM...the lady was telling me that it was still in process....I told her its almost been a week to process....she had no answer to why it was taking so long....I told her it was a gift and I was hoping to get it by this weekend but she said it wouldn't ship til next week sometime....so I told her I wanted to cancel the order and and just place it at a better time....Her response....We'll get it shipped out today for you....WTF....Why should it take a phone call and wanting to cancel to get this shipped??:confused:

Oh well...at least I will have them soon....
