Hmm.. a set of black C3Ms would look pretty good on my white car I think and would be great for a summer set. Good pricing too...

I will test fit and do needed adjustments Friday-Saturday and take it down to the Springs for Sunday's race. Working with FM spring/shock package (I hear that is where I will fight the fit).

Not bad for the price and maybe now more tire manufactures will start making a 245 for a 15" rim. They are kind of heavy though, 15.6 lbs. I would almost think that the extra $40 per rim on a 15X8 6UL would be worth it to save 3.6 lbs per corner. The C3M would be a great street rim with the 6UL for the track.

From what I saw, I could get just the 6UL or C3M with tires. I went through a Jim Paris tire and let them source them for me through Tire Rack. He gave me a pretty good deal, even with the added tax that I could have skipped going direct. I'm out the door for about $900 wheels, tires, mount/balance and lug kit.

As for the weight penalty, until I get myself down to 150 lbs (never going to happen) I think I can live with the extra 3 lbs. per corner. I'm a big guy that squeezes in and out of the Miata. If this were a serious racing effort, I could see spending the extra money. When it is just for fun and to run 80-90 percent of the speed with minimal investment.

I am all over the deals that give most of the Bang with the least amount of Bucks.

well from my understanding, 3 lbs a wheel is equal to taking 96 lbs off your car due to the rotating unsprung mass effect. and im a rather large guy myself lol. but from my understanding, the 15x9"s with 225's you may run into fender issues when you get some roll, and thats if they clear the fm springs, but then again my 15x8s are clearing the H&R race springs fine, and the H&R have alot more drop it seems.
ill be at that race come sunday. if denver folks want a staging area in the springs to meet up before heading down there, im less than 10 minutes off the freeway at north academy

and for pictures. unfortunately its still kinda dirty, that was right before i took the cleaner wax to it... and i just got done so its too dark to take pictures now.

They look really good. And on the small rim on a small car the 205s don't look that skinny.

They showed up today. On the left are 195 on 6" Miata rim. Right stack is 205 on 7" and the new stuff in the middle. They fit with room to spare and so far no roll on the fender.

First off, I never said I was a photographer. And the car has not seen a car wash since August.

Drift charm!

ecam, are those 225s on the TRMs really as stretched as they look in the stacks o' tires pic? It's hard to tell in the pics of them on the car.

Oh, they ARE stretched! In that picture in the garage with the stacks, the card board is there to protect the rims. The thought in the Miata/autocross crowd is 225 are fast on 7's, faster on 8's, and faster still on 9 in rims. These will be used for the autocross only. I have a second set for street use. From a looks standpoint, I would have gone with and 8 inch. But the two wheel sets I owned were stock 6's and Enkie 7's. Making this purchase for the autox, I knew if I had ordered the 8's, I would have always wondered if I "settled".
