They are mainly fo universal fit. My brothers vette rims have the sam thing but are hidden. That way it can work on any car instead of making two different versions of the wheel. His Rims will fit his chevy and also my Mazda.

Nah not really... Someone on ebay would want them.... :P But they would look nice on my car, I'm pretty sure I have a car, well come to think of it I'm not sure, I keep making payments on something called a MazdaSpeed 3 but I haven't seen one in my driveway for almost 2 months.

Inexpensive/cheap wheels usually have multiple bolt patterns. Just so they can use the same wheel for various applications with differing bolt patterns without having to make them properly per car, per application.

Avoid IMHO.
