I just ordered a front set of the HAWK HPS pads today,, They are on special order so it will take a few days to get.. Im just curious if anyoen else is running these to and what are your thoughts about them.

Probably the most valuable investment you will make for your car. The Hawk HPS are excellent. I have tried their blue pads in the past, and while being excellent performers on the track, they were absolutely horrible on the streets (lots of squeaking and brake dust).

Hawk Blues on the street- did you nearly corn-hole the first person you tried to stop behind? Those pads need heat to work. I would have to baby my car around the first few corners at the track until the brakes got up to temp. Once they did though- it was like throwing an anchor over the side each time I hit the brakes. It was awesome!

I have a Hawk HPS on the rear of my car. They work. Can't really comment too much since the fronts, which have EBC greens, do most of the stopping.

I'm probably going to put some Hawk HPS pads on my wife's Saturn VUE (kind of overkill, I know) in the near future.

I thought about picking some up, as Rosenthal has some for $50/set. (d'oh, they're sold out. Still have them for the 6 and Miata, though)

I have them on my msp and love them.

Ya I did some pricing around town for them and Pep boys of all places where the cheapest I found.. after tax and all I got a set for the front for $71.. and when I get the rears next week they are gonna be $55..

how hard is it to install new pads?

its just like installing any other brake pads on any other vehicle... first you take car and put in park,, second you jack the car up,, third you take off the wheel.............. you catch my drift...

thanks, but never having done any major work on the old car, I have no idea how hard it is to swap out the pads.
History has proven i am hard on brakes, so this would be a worth while upgrade.

Im just messing dude,, its not to hard to do.. I havent done it on my car yet but I did it once on my work truck, So Im sure it kinda is the same way of doing it.. just gotta know kinda what your doing to make sure you take it all off and put it back on correctly..

Pads are an easy install. I've done the brakes on every car I've owned. The most depressing was the swap on my Yukon, when I also changed the rotors (another easy one, as long as they aren't frozen to the hub). Long story short, make sure you have all of the required tools before you start. I started and had to put things together twice on that one to drive over to the store. Haha.

I've done brakes on several different cars as well. If you want, we can use my garage if/when you want to change your brakes.

It's easy, just do one side at a time so you can compare if you can't figure out how to put them back together.
