Performing a rough alignment in the garage

I just replaced my rack and pinion bellows along with the tie-rod ends. Can anyone give me some tips on doing a rough alignment? I know I will need to get it into a shop for a good one, but I would like to drive it there instead of tow it. What are your thoughts?
