I’m stumped and wondering if anyone else has had this problem or may know what the deal is…
I recently installed a set of H&R Coilovers on my MS3. After the install, I drove it around for a couple of days to make sure the springs were settled and they were pretty much sitting in their final resting place. I adjusted the ride height until they were exactly 1.5 inches in the front and 1.0 inches in the rear. I liked the height in the front, so I left it, but wanted the rear lower by just a tad. On the rear perches there was about .5 of an inch left to go, so I split the difference leaving .25 of an inch left until the perches were down all the way. After this adjustment, put everything back together, took it around the block, pulled it back in the garage and remeasured. Come to find out, I was still sitting exactly at 1 inch in the rear (same as before). Scratching my head, I decided to just put the rear perches all the way down, put it back together, drove it around, etc. After pulling in the garage and measuring again, height is still sitting at exactly 1 inch lower than stock in the rear… I cut the bump stops slightly during the install and I have checked to make sure I am not riding on them. I have inspected everything I can think of, but cant for the life of me figure WTF is wrong….
Ideas? Has anyone else experienced this?
The rear rides pretty rough, but not overly harsh and I seriously doubt the shocks are THAT stiff to prevent the car from going any lower.
Thanks in advance!
