The Solstice

Postby Dwduc » Fri Oct 17, 2014 9:14

Well after spending most of the summer chasing a random misfire code (turned out to be a bad injector) the CEL is back. This time a cam phasing error. looks like the intake cam actuator solenoid is going bad. Probably has something to do with the new more aggressive tune and the added NLS function moving the cams further and faster then they had ever traveled previously.

New solenoid is on order. hoping to have it sorted out in time for Halloween trackday.

Its a GM performance parts tune from GM.

basically just higher reading map sensors and a reflash to boost more.

Cam solenoid Should be easy fix once the part is here.

Roadster Tech day at Shadow's

Postby Dwduc » Thu Nov 30, 2017 9:14

So yesterday I went to visit Shadow and we pulled the left axle out on the solstice to replace a leaking axle seal. It was a good learning experience and I think we could do it in half the time if it needed redone. So far no new puddles under the car so I think it was a success. Then we got in his S2000 and pulled out those injectors to get serviced and tested. Hopefully it is the culprit of his misfiring issue.
