Tranny Output Shaft Leak

Postby RX-7 Chris » Wed Feb 19, 2014 9:14

I have a leaky tranny output shaft seal. I replaced the seal but it didn't fix the leak.

Does anyone have any ideas for what I could do?

I'm using the Timken brand seal. Maybe a different brand is tighter? I didn't see any wear of the driveshaft where the seal sits.

I ordered the mazda brand seal. It should be here today.

Online I've found it for about $7, msrp is just over $8. Bob Penkhus tried to sell it to me for about $10.50. I did get him to lower it down to $7.39, lol. I just couldn't believe they wanted that much over msrp, it make me wonder what they charge for more expensive parts.

I'm also going to have my extra drive shaft worked on this week.
