Can anyone swap my old exhaust back on for dirt cheap? Its in 3 pieces and you'd have to cut the MS3 exhaust in half i think to get it off. Let me know asap please

I'm not familiar with the stock 3 exhaust. Was it cut to take it off, or is it in 3 sections that bolt together?

It was cut to take it off likewise with the speed3 exhaust

thats odd.. why would you have to cut it in half to take it off? it will have to be welded back together prior to installing it. I would offer my garage up.. but I don't currently have a welder.

The stock exhausts on the mz3/ms3 go over the rear suspension crossmember. You would have to remove the crossmember to get it out in one piece. Aftermarket exhausts typically have dealt with this and made a join at that location, but either you cut the stock one, or you do tons of suspension work. *shrug*

You could probably put the exhaust half on without the end muffler section and take it down to the muffler shop and have the rest welded on I'm sure. Just don't floor it on your way or you'll attract la policia.

or you could have a couple flanges welded on and just bolt it back up. I drove an rx7 with a 3" strait pipe.. and it attracted way too much of the attention!

Im trying to go back to stock for an easier sell, and then sell the ms3 exhaust. I should just give in and see how much an exhaust shop will charge

I don't always do my own exhaust work... but when I do, I use an exhaust shop.

I may have time to help and can weld them for you, but I'm booked up the next couple of weekends. Check with an exhaust shop, my guess is that it should be under $100 for them to do this. If it's outrageous, let me know.

I went to Exhaust Pro's and they said itll be $80 so im just gonna do that

Sounds good. That's a fairly reasonable price and they're likely to do a better job that I would since they do it all the time and have lifts.

Sounds like a bargain. Sheesh, I spend more than $80 at any/every store I ever walk into...including Goodwill.

Yea that sounds about right. I had my stock catback welded back onto my MS3 after having 3" straight pipe and not being able to stand it for more than a week. The straight pipe catback was fine with the stock DP but once I put the catless DP on it was waaay too loud and didn't even sound good. Pretty sure they charged me around $80 to do it, including having to weld a little piece of spacer pipe in there over the axle because for some reason it was coming up short.
