possible smokey turbo fix speed6

Postby 04rx8 » Fri Apr 01, 2011 9:14

So I recently did a highflow catted 3 in dp by Atp turbo with magnaflow catback had hella oil coming out of exhaust and other smoke coming out so I took off the magnaflows and now I'm straight piped it sounds very similar to a srt4 but it pulls way better and guess what no smoke no oil smell nothing so maybe great success accept for the srt sound?

Making it sound like an SRT4 would be a good thing, not a bad thing. :P Best 4 cylinder exhaust I've owned. Almost rather hear one of those than an STi with exhaust... almost, hehe.

It's weird that the catback fixed the smoking. Catbacks don't much except change the sound on these cars. All the backpressure is in the downpipe. But glad it fixed it for you.

that is probably not a good thing. Your cats were probably burning the excessive blowby that you still have.

You need to do a compression test and check your oil level.

Its the seals on the K04. A gt3071 or 3076 will fix that nicely.
