i think its over 30% you need to be tuned for theres a thread under mazdaspeed somewhere

To get the largest benefit from water/meth injection you need to be tuned, period. Otherwise, you're just providing detonation resistance and actually decreasing your volumetric efficiency by allowing the steam to displace fuel and air in the combustion chamber.

he's referring to the percentage of methanol in the mixture to which you are injecting.. standard ww fluid that is rated at -20 degrees is generally 70% water/30% methanol..

Using this standard mixture does not require a tune on the disi, and is beneficial in many ways.

If you don't go the standard mixture, most of the branded companies are around 50/50 http://www.snowperformance.net/product.php?pk=3

Though I'm finding out it's much cheaper to make the mix yourself......

Yea the pre-brewed 50/50 stuff is crazy expensive, and then you have crazy high shipping on top of that because it's hazmat.

I bought 10 gallons of pure methanol for $50 at Lanier's Speed Shop at 106 Pueblo Ave near downtown Colorado Springs. Since you're at Carson it's not too far from you. You have to bring your own containers. I bought 3 5-gallon gas jugs from Wal-Mart. Had them fill 2 of them with meth and was going to use the 3rd for mixing but traded in the car before I installed the meth kit. 10 gallons, which comes out to 20 gallons of 50/50 would last a very long time.

If you decide to go this route I'd sell you all of it, the meth and the 3 jugs (about $7-8 a piece I think) plus several gallons of distilled water for $50. Would save you about $25 over buying it all yourself and would last you a long time. Plus then you know exactly what you're putting into your car and don't have to worry about potential contaminants in windshield washer fluid.

I'm in Denver every day, but on the far south end, Tech Center.

Once my car is up and running, we'll have to see if we can meet up. I'd gladly take all that off your hands!

i dk if i would run 50/50 on a stock k04 i just see that over stressing that crappy turbo more then it should and he really doesnt have that many parts on his car to really want to go for meth right away

Meth is a good idea on an otherwise 100% stock speed. And a higher percentage of meth will not stress the K04. Higher boost stresses the K04 and adding meth doesn't mean you are necessarily running higher boost.

How does meth "stress" a turbo? In fact, water/meth injection improves turbo efficiency, and actually moves the compressor map to the right when injected pre-turbo.

Lol way more responses than I was expecting I just want to cool the air charge so I'm adding a ic and meth kit to my car I'll prolly go 70/30 I herd standard window washer fluid does the trick i'm running the accessport but I'm not goin to do water meth kit if I have to tune the car no way I'm spending 400 plus to tune that crappy ko4. Basically I want the most "umph" I can get out of the car without touching the turbo I'm saving that for after afganistan. I have everything else you can do to the speed bolt on wise except an ic upgrade and water meth
