If the smoke is white it is most likely coolant/water. Oil has a blue tint. I would say it is the seal and not the turbo itself.

Talked with mark at turboxs about this. He said he cant say for sure with out seeing it, but he thinks it is just the fact that there are no more cats. Said it doesnt sound like a seal problem or a turbo. But like I said he cant say for sure with out seeing it him self.

I have a race pipe and no smoke at all.[/b]

When I was following you down Wadsworth last week, there was a puff of black smoke when you launched from the stop lights. But that's probably fairly normal for accelerating that hard.

Yea these cars run rich. Especially with the Blow of valve. But at idol it is a whitish smoke.

RX-7 is correct. White = water. Blue = oil.

What parts did you pull out? Maybe you're sucking in some coolant, or burning off some condensation that usually drips out the tail pipe.

I've seen this to be a normal condition on modified Saabs (adding 3-inch downpipe + race cats). The white smoke is usually more noticeable for the first couple of minutes of driving, or on cooler humid days. If it is all the time, it turns out to be a head, or head gasket problem. Maybe the head needs to be re-torqued.

Can you check for oil/moisture in your intercooler? That's where I'd start.

My car is doing the same thing, smoking at idle. I have a CP-E DP, CAI, BOV & new TMIC. After doing plenty of looking on line, it seems that there are ton of people out there that are having this problem. What I have read and after talking with Jordan @ CP-E, it is a design flaw in the seal of the turbo. The seals require preasure to keep the seal and when the car is at idle there is not enough preasure to hold them. I have read that there are people that are having this issue with stock Speeds @ only 7K miles, but the addition of a down pipe or cat back tends to make the problem worse. I know I just said what every body else did, but had to through in my 2 cents.

Has anyone brough their car in to a dealer and got it fixed? Did the dealer have any problems with the mods? Please let me know.

Jake, you might consider getting a high-flow cat to replace your race pipe if it turns out your turbo is fine.

Coloskydiver, it's good to see you are on here now. I was the a-hole that was stalking you on Hampden Ave. about 2-3 months ago, trying to get your attention :D
