Front Bumper Finish Protection

Postby sfoshag » Sat May 17, 2014 9:14

I am new here and I appreciate the help I got for the transmission fluid change tips.

I have a burgundy Mazda 6 that I swore did not have any chips in the front when I bought it. When doing the Spring wax job, I found numerous chips. I did have a guy do touch up on those, but not the greatest job (certainly not an $85 job  ). The best price on a clear bra is $600 JUST to do the bumper.:eek:

I was going to do a DIY spray on clear bra, but am finding it difficult to mask off. I considered taking the grill inserts out, but it looks like a difficult job. I was considering painting with PlastiDip but would like to keep the nice looking finish. I could do black, but it would dry to a flat finish.

Any suggestions? Is there a brush on clear bra?

There is a guy right off of Hampden and Santa Fe that did some work on my car. Extreme detailing. owners name is Jason. Give them a call on both fixing the chips and doing the clear bra. 303-781-4901.

Eric is great. You can see his work on the Facebook page for his business.

He gets some really nice cars rolling through his shop. He's gonna be the first person I call when I have the money to get my windows tinted.

This is how my Jeep turned out using black Plasti-Dip....

I did the same to the grill (no pics, YET) and it held up quite nicely during the winter.

I want my M6 to look like the nice car it is. If I cannot get a responsible price, I might try clear Plasti-Dip.

I'd check with the guy more local to you that I posted about previously. Never hurts to get a comparison at a minimum.

He quoted me $450 for front bumper and 18" of hood. MUCH better and reasonable price.

Thank you.
