Removing Rx-8 Rear Seats

Here is a little quick guide for those of you who do not know how to pull out your rear seats (or should I say cushiosn)

1) Pull the bottom cushion straight up from the corner.

2) For this next step you'll need a 12mm socket to take the two bolts out.

3) After the bolts are removed pul the back-rest straight up and then out.
4) You get this.

Ahh. That IS a good question.

By removing the seats you are getting several things done.

1)You will be able to wire power to an amp that is in the trunk.
2) You Will be able to lighten the car for the track. (which won't help much because they are light)
3) In my case I've already done the above but need to remove a the side panels for another DIY I am currently writing.
4) If there are any other reasons to remove the seats and someone writes a DIY for that specific thing they can direct a link here.

Find a stinger dealer in your area and use Roadkill. It's lighter per sqaure foot than dynamat, damps vibrations better, cost less, and actually sticks to metal without the use of extra glue. Trust me on this one, I have been a 1st class certified installer since 1993. If you can't find up there, pm me, I 'm a dealer, you can have it at cost.
