Help from rotary guys!

So i have always had a fascination with the rotary engine and ive always wanted a car with one (rx7 primarily) but the reason i didnt buy one when i bought my speed6 was its horrible efficiency. This year is my senior year in high school and I am in "Advanced Tech Projects". it is an engineering class where we are given a year to design and do a project on whatever we want tech related. i have chosen to attempt to design some way for the rotary to maintain its power output and smoothness while making it more fuel efficient. i understand Mazda has been really exploring this but i am also looking to challenge myself and see what i can do. For this project, we are required to have 6 advisors (two expert advisors and 4 support advisors) I have my auto tech teacher as an expert advisor since he as over 30 years of automotive expertise, my physics teacher as one of my support advisors for the thermo/flow/motion physics of the motor, and then on of my classmates (who is a certified professional with SolidWorks which is our 3D CAD software...i am planning to test for my CSWP certification by the end of the year as i am only an associate with the CSWA cert.) as a support, leaving me with three spots to fill, one expert and one support. Would anyone be willing to be an expert advisor as my "Rotary Expert" for my project? furthermore would anyone be willing to fill in as a support advisor as well. i have attached the document my teacher has given us for the advisor descriptions so you can read what is required from the advisors. Ignore the last page of the document as it is for me to have my advisors sign, however anyone willing to help is welcomed and encouraged to just send my teacher an email saying you are an advisor instead of having to sign a sheet. Please, if anyone is willing to help me out this year let me know asap this project is a big one and ive got to get everything rolling on time if i am to meet deadlines. Thank you

I would be willing to be an adviser (whichever one you would prefer me to be). I have never rebuilt a rotary motor though. I do know quite a bit about the older carb motors though.

Would this motor be required to pass emisions?

thanks a ton guys my email is g.harris012@gmail.com if you email me your work address and telephone numbers i will set you as advisors and for my project there really isnt a huge difference between support and expert both will be doing the same basic thing thanks so much for the help

so guys i just purchased a 13b N/A from this guy Mike Heimrl for 250 he said it dropped a seal and he immediately parked the car in his driveway and pulled the motor but i plan on tearing it down and using some calipers and stuff our engineering department at school has i am trying to recreate it in our 3d CAD software.

As far as I know there hasn't been a CAd file done. There has been talk of doing CAD files on RX-7 Club but I don't think anyone ever went through with it.

theres been alot done on 7club but not the actual engine itself just the car.

Have fun getting the flywheel nut off! It's a bitch. I have the tools (most of them) if you need it

I have the flywheel stopper and the socket as well

my snap on impact took that nut off with ease. also torqued it to well over 200ft/lbs lol

actually when i bought it the flywheel was off and both bolts on the front and rear of the e shaft were loosened for me i heard it was 170ft/lbs but 200 is good with me
