It's driving me nuts, I'm sure it isn't helping my gas mileage.

Also I took my car to get the tires balanced a few weeks ago to end the slight vibration at 80 now the car starts vibrating at 60 and I gets worse the faster I go.

I swapped out the intake gasket last night and it didn't help at all. I need to go through the full troubleshooting sequence.

You took it to Brett for that, right?

LOL jk. I wish he was on here more often to see this lol.

Sorry to hear that. I hope it's something small and easy to find at least.

Last week I realized that when I pulled the intake the first time I broke a plastic vacuum valve that is under the intake. The valve regulates the vacuum going to the BAC valve which in turn regulates the idle.

I have a used replacement valve coming that was shipped this morning for Oregon.

The biggest problem with owning a GSL-SE is that they only made about 14,000 between 1984 and 1985 so there is no market for replacement parts and Mazda has stopped producing parts. Even though NA FC RX-7s have have very similar motors, there is a lot of parts that are different. It is amazing how much they changed in 1986.

I'm still interested in seeing what you have. Also do you still have the SE wheels?

I need to take the car back to discount to have the tires balanced for the third time. They just can't get it right. I'm actually taking it to the location that did the tires the first time and didn't have a problem with it.

Ok I'll let you know when my shed is cleaned out enough to reveal the engine lol.

I might have a couple left, I just don't remember seeing them lately.

I took the car the first two times to the Discount on Woodmen by Walmart and they couldn't get it right. For the third time, I took the car back to the location on Dublin by Sprouts. They checked the wheels with the weights still on than they took them off and re-balanced the wheels. One of the wheels had 5.25 oz on it and it only needed .25 oz. All the wheels were over 1.5 oz too much. The guy balancing the wheels couldn't believe they installed that much. He said that the only time you would need 5.25 oz on a wheel is if it was really bent and none of my wheels are bent. I ended up calling the regional manager to complain (something I usually never do).

The car driving on the highway fine again. I can drive over 60mph.

That is crazy for such a simple procedure. Modern wheel balancers make it so simple, I don't see how these people botched it so badly. Maybe faulty equipment? Makes me want my own wheel mounting and balancing machine, you can't trust anybody these days!!

The location that fixed it said their equipment has to be way out of calibration.

I replaced that little plastic valve and my idle is fixed. I believe I still need to mess with the TPS as well as adjust the dashpot. I also really need to clean the K&N air filter.

The only other thing left on my list for now is buffing the car. My biggest problem is I don't have a buffer, haha.

If you can get your hands on junkies buffer, I can come down and help. 2 buffers will make it a lot faster.
