As the title says a new build thread for a new RX-7. This time it's all about looks and what not.
Anyways since I parted out the silver FC which was somewhat unreliable I decided to turn the daily driver FC into a hard parking machine. I'm not saying that I won't get another TII swap in the future but looks and reliability are first on my list for this build and performance last. Also this will be a budget build meaning if anyone wants to try this setup and don't have enough cash this can be a reference. Also doing this cause I have a lot time in the summer due to no classes.
Anyways this is what i have to work with.
86 Mazda RX-7 GXL automatic

now with a TII hood

also it has a pair of s5 taillights that will be LED

the tires I got last week and wheels should be here next week.
So far my plans are:
Auto to Manual conversion
Godspeed coilovers -its a budget build also dont wanna use the JICs just yet-
Saleen SC Style wheels
17x9 205/45/17 - fronts
17x10 225/45/17 - rears
Full BN bodykit
there's more but I haven't fully decided on some things.
I will also be repainting the car with a matte white or black paint (no not rattle can primer).
As soon as I finish Tyler's(TylerS5fc) TII swap I should have a little more time to work on it.

Damn that FD is low! Haha
People don't realize how hard it is to make an FD that low

Say what? It's not hard, or at least it wasn't for me...coilovers + fender lip roll + wiring harness tuck = done. It was way easier than other cars I've owned, FD fender wells are just frickin' massive. As soon as I get my car moving again I'll post pics of how low it is lol, better wheel fitment than that silver one too, IMO...those look like 18s though, my car has 17s unfortunately.
Anyway boso exhaust would be rad. But you've gotta do a ridiculous body kit too

yea see theres not much people that appreciate the boso exhaust. i actually like to see something nice looking with a twist. it hella throws people off lol. im going with a bn kit but havent decided on whether to get a wangan wing or the pawlak roof wing.
this is what im aiming for:

and yes it will be that low, only during hard parking lol
i wanna see the current pics the fd though. this whole stance craze has gotten me.
i actually like the fitment on the silver fd but i like the fitment on erics car better though.

Oh I remember seeing that FD in the pics thread on 7club. I'm planning on going lower with mine when I get the new wheels and tires.
Dillon, are you keeping the FD now?
Ian, that exhaust is ridiculous LOL. Can't wait to see your finished product though.

thats what i wanna know. he was asking something about the airpump on another thread im just wondering lol
see here's the thing about the exhaust, i wanted the re diffuser but i would need dual fart cans to make the car look atleast good in the rear but i dont like fart can style exhausts. also i didnt think it would flow with the kit i wanted.
but yea it should be done by mid august with new paint and everything. just gotta get tylers fc out of my garage. its done i just need an ecu to actually drive it.
edit: oh yea i also dont wanna go too low so i dont end up doing this on the way home lol

I just meant it's hard to go low without compromising the performance (depending on your wheel/tire setup).
It was easy as hell for me to slam my RX-8 (Koni shocks, Sprint springs, Mazdaspeed kit) and still drive it without rubbing shit. I would only drag my front lip sometimes. My front bumper was 2.2" off the ground, my side skirts were 2.8" or so off the ground.
I don't think my FD is that low (just Koni's), measurement from the wheel to the top of the fender is 25" up front, 25.5" in the back IIRC. Once I get coilovers I'm shooting for 24" all around probably.

alright so i messed with photoshop for a little bit before work so heres a paint scheme im aiming for.
the black is what is gonna stay untouched the rest will be painted white. i think matte white with a touch of black gloss should look pretty damn good. i know the design is played out but its the best looking by far compared to the others, also its simple.
as for the wheels im thinking about painting them white as well. dont know yet til i actually get the wheels. but those are the exact ones im getting, they look like regamasters dont they? lol

its still an un kitted pic. if i can get away without a kit i might not put one on. maybe just a lip, t2 skirts and a rear diffuser
