Headlight Housing Assembly???

Postby Renesis Rx » Mon May 10, 2010 9:14

Two Friday's ago I found out that the inside of my drivers side headlight assemby is broken. Bulb housing is falling out, pieces rolling around inside and the bulb is laying over. So....time to get a new housing, right. Went to the dealer and was told parts, tax, labor I'm looking at about $1400. Any ideas on where I could get one cheaper than the $1100 they want for the housing? Can only find the Halogen assembly, I have Xenon, on the net. Asked dealer and they're different.

Only places I could think of are eBay and RX8club.

I would say call some junkyards but I doubt you'll find one with an 8.

Do you have factory HID's? If so, be prepared to drop some coin on new headlights...they are not cheap no matter where you go.

Sometimes you can luck out and find some for sale on Ebay for $500.

Also try http://www.partsgroup.com or http://www.mazmart.com they sell used Mazda parts.

EDIT: Just looked at PartsGroup.com and they have both driver and passenger side headlights, complete, for $299 each. I'd jump on it, that's a steal: http://www.partsgroup.com/store.aspx?category=RX8-BodyExterior&Page=0
