Most of this is in my intro thread but i decided to move it over here so you guys can follow the progression of my build.

In January I picked up an '84 RX-7 GSL to use as a daily beater while i pulled and rebuilt the motor in my civic. I cleaned the 7 up a bit and have been daily driving it since then. A few months ago the clutch went out so I went through and did a full service on the car changed all the fluids and clutch.









Then last week i noticed an ad up on Craigslist that this guy was parting out an 84 RX-7 so i called and went to take a look at it. I offered to buy the whole car and he originally turned me down then when i came back later that day he offered to take me up on my offer to buy the whole car and that he would deliver it to my place so i wouldn't have to deal with towing it.
So now i have a parts car with lots of good condition parts to swap over to the original RX-7. The parts car is really in good shape but has no title, the ignition is non existent and it is cratered pretty bad in the rear quarter panel.

I pulled both dashboards and the seats and am working on moving the wiring harness from the parts car over to the original car since its wiring was butchered. My wife got the dashboard out of the parts car all cleaned up so i can hopefully get it installed later this week.

I'm thinking of picking up a set of Diamond Racing Wheels for the FB in either 14" or 15" but i'm not sure what width to run or what backspacing will give me a flush or near flush setup. Any help would be appreciated. i've done some searching and i'm thinking something in the 7 or 8 inches wide would be good.

I'm not positive, but if you want it to be flush, on those cars you'll probably want something like a 15x7 +10 offset. Offset matters more than width when it comes to how flush a rim is. Diameter and width are just a matter of preference. Though you do have to take the width into consideration when trying to figure out what offset to go with. For an n/a FB I'd say no wider than an 8" rim, or rather a 225 width tire, just because they don't have much power. I'm trying to find the offset of the stock rims, but not having much luck...

Edit: Example, here's an FB with 15x7 +7 all around.



Here is 17x8 +19 offset in front, 17x9 +27 in rear.



I would not go with rims that big personally. But just a good example of fitment at those widths.

15X7 with 20 offset is about the best. 8" wide wheels are a little hard to fit in the car unless you do fender flairs or widebody.

Because of the bolt pattern (4x110) you will only have about 3 choices for wheels unless you find rare used wheels.

I think stock wheels are 13x5.5 but I'm not sure of the offset.

Yeah, but it shouldn't be hard to swap on 4x114.3 hubs from a GSL-SE, right? Might be hard to find though.

much harder then you think. He would need the complete front hubs with complete brake setup including calipers. For the back he would need a complete GSL-SE rear with brake setup including calipers. More work then it is worth to be able to change out the wheels.

Oh, I see. Might as well swap in a 5-lug setup from an FC if you're going to go through all that trouble. That's even more work though.

anyone know where i can find the rubber boot that seals up the shifter hole? not the actual shifter boot but the rubber underneath it. mine is torn to a million pieces.

I've noticed that my running RX-7 (the gray one) is running extremely rich. I am very new to carburetors so I'm needing some help.

Its a Mikuni side draft carb I'm not sure what model or size. How do I adjust it to lean it out?

Are you sure it is running rich because RX-7s run rich compared to other cars. I don't know anything about mikuni's. I would search the net for info on them.
