Hey Guys,

I have an 94 Rx7 that I have not driven in about 2 years. Maybe just a couple of times. I want to fix it up. I want to start with a tune up. Very easy right. Is there any where a write up about tuning up the car. I need to get it ready for an emission test and wanted to bounce it off this forum. I don't want to get blind sided. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks,

Awesome, another RX-7, FD no less.

First, why so long since it's been driven? Have you tried to start it? How long has it been since the last time? Did you leave fuel in it? Because depending on how long it's been sitting it might be bad. I've had to drain my tank twice or three times now from bad fuel.

As far as a tune up, I'd start it and see how it runs first. You can check the plugs, but if they're not fowled I wouldn't worry about it. I wish I could think of more right now but I've had an exhausting past two days and I can't think of everything. There are a few of us on this board, I'll see if they have any ideas.

Hopefully we can meet up with you at the Sonic meet this summer or something.

Post up after you start it (or try to haha). I'd be interested to see what problems you may have, if you have any at all. Maybe yours acts better than mine haha.

Start with changing all fluids (oil, coolant, etc.) new oil filter, fuel filter, plugs, probably need a battery. Drain the gas tank.

Do all this before you try and start it.

Do above things first. One item I could throw into the mix, is that if gasoline has been sitting in it for 2 years, you might want to check the fuel pump for corrosion. Good luck!

does the rotor need any special attention? I was wondering if they "freeze" up in the combustion chamber if they aren't run in while.
