RX8 exhaust

I am not going to say too much about it but I am looking into getting some spring time goodies for my baby. I was just wondering if any of you know how restrictive the exhaust on the RX is? I was thinking of getting an exhaust but the sound of a midpipe at half the cost seems a better choice. Any help? Thanks.

stock really isnt that restrictive. exhaust is basically just a noise mod for the 8, your lucky to get 3+hp out of it. with a midpipe it wont pass emissions and will be really loud.

What he said. The biggest restriction is the cat, so you could go with a high flow car, such as the Rotary Performance cat.

So dont bother with a cat back or a midpipe, just get a high flow cat and i will be good?

I cant speak for the rest of Colorado but i know that El Paso county doesnt have an emissions requirement as long as the car is bought in El Paso county. That said if your from the springs and staying in the springs ya dont have to worry about a Cat in the first place.

yeah i didnt think anyone in the state of colorado has a emissions requirement anymore they got rid of that last year

The Denver metro area still sniffs cars. We even have drive by sniffers on on-ramps.

So to question was should i get this midpipe from rotory performance or should i look into a full catback?

The most likely route that I'll take in the future is the Rotary Performance hi flow cat, and the Mazdaspeed Dual Sport Exhaust. The exhaust I'm set on, the exact hi flow cat, I'm not. I'm still researching that.
