Wow... they leaned that car out significantly... I have to remind myself that it's not a turbo boxer motor so that I don't forget to breathe lol. Just wow... for anyone who can't see *cough*Guido*cough*, here's a larger image:

It's no secret how they made power on that car... just look at the AFR's... in case you're unfamiliar, the air/fuel ratios are the brown-ish/purple-ish lines, the broken up one is before, and the solid is after. Take a close look, when stock, around 5600rpm, it took a nose dive, running the motor very rich, going from around the mid-high 12:1 AFR's, all the way down to around low 11:1 AFR's. You can see from about 5600rpm on up, where they pulled more fuel, they made more power than they did on the low end... with a peak of what looks like about 20whp around the 5900rpm mark.

Since the AFR's weren't altered as drastically down low, I can only assume they advanced timing a degree or 2 to make that extra power down low. The AFR's are a little erratic, but I would really like to see a full datalog, to see if running around 12.5:1 around 8500rpm was producing any knock. Very nice to see such large gains in stock form though, they gained considerably more power than I thought they would.... although I would take those numbers with a grain of salt, and hope they didn't do things to inflate their numbers, like icing down the intake, running an "extended" cool down period, higher octane fuel to prevent the ECU from pulling timing from any knock ect.

From someone with more background in turbo Subaru's, it always shocks me to see people running 12.5:1 AFR's at over 8k RPMs on pump gas lol. To anyone who isn't familiar, WRX/STI's are usually tuned around 10.8-11.2:1 so MUCH richer lol. Does anyone know, what kind of AFR's do people usually tune naturally aspirated rotaries for?

Check my AccessPORT thread. Quick results: 10hp, 4 lb-ft.

Also, keep in mind the neither numbers are "official" for the actual release of the retail AP. Those are still TBD.
