Thanks man! Yeah I love the black wrinkle, really happy I went it. The purple is a great contrast, too.
Now I'm just debating if I should paint my charge piping the same wrinkle black or polish it.

It's actually shocking how easy it is. Simple un-bolt the relay bracket and then pull the chassis harness up and out of the way. I had to cut two pieces of tape on the harness and a mounting zip-tie and it was free. The harness is actually double-backed so it will un-fold extra length.
I then just pushed the relays and harness down to the opening in front of the tire, there is plenty of space (behind where a secondary oil cooler would be). I bolted the relay bracket to a spare chassis stud with a 10mm nut. The only hang-up was one of the relays connectors wasn't long enough, so I just swapped it to the closest position on the bracket and it works fine, but the relays are in different spots now so I have to remember that haha.
The driver side with the fuse blocks is proving to be more of a challenge. Not nearly as much extra length in the harness. Plus I want to easy access to the fuse block and the diagnostic connector (although I'll only use it for testing/priming the fuel system). So that may require actually de-looming some section of the harness in order to get more length and to tuck it the way I want it.

Yeah the black and purple looks good together.
I'd do the charge piping the same way. WAY less work to keep it clean.

Where you bolted it, isn't that where the coolant overflow tank is normally bolted? So that won't work for many of us haha.

So of course I've been holding off on ordering some parts for whatever reason (because I'm lazy) and I just ordered my thermostat for the oil coolers today from JEGS and of course it's back-ordered until March! I searched nearly every online retailer selling the particular thermostat I want and it's the same story. Oh well, hopefully it comes in sooner.
Also got the -10AN catch can I need, a billet mount for the thermostat, an AN hose pressure testing kit, and a special fitting I needed.
I did notice, however, that eBay is THE PLACE to get AN fittings, adapters, and hose. With all the fitting/adapter/hose I need for my fuel system, oil coolers, and catch can system, I'm saving over $200 bucks on the stuff just from getting it off eBay. Thought I would pass it along.

Not sure if I mentioned this, and even if I did I'm pretty sure I have new info on this, but when you install that thermostat (I'm assuming it's a Mocal piece), make sure you look inside and the side with the springs needs to go just off the front cover. When the oil leaves the engine it goes through the spring side first, then through the piston side when it's going to the filter.
When I helped Andy install his last weekend I noticed that his spring side wasn't on the same side as the bolt heads, whereas mine is. So whichever side the bolt heads are on has nothing to do with it.

Literally just got done re-doing the oil thermostat on the red fd for this same reason. Read the instructions so that you plumb the oil feed from the engine to the wax thermostat.... oh well, least i didn't have to remake my bracket

Yeah Pat, I think that might have been one of the things causing me to burn oil, but I'm pretty sure that issue is fixed now WOOHOO!! Anyway, I didn't realize Frozen Boost carried AN fittings. I've gotten so many other things from them though. I love having a place local haha.

Got the ACT flywheel resurfaced today. Good thing I did, I was just thinking of leaving it but the machine shop said they decked it 0.018" so it was pretty rough. Looks brand new now tho, so I'm happy.
That's officially the last part I needed before being able to drop the engine, so now I have every part to assemble and install the long block. Just waiting on fuel system parts basically then I'm DONE (for this round haha)

Haha, true! That's what this WHOLE project has turned into. I originally just wanted to pull the motor to go non-sequential, replace the twins with some good ones, reseal the oil pan and install an oil pan brace, drop in some 1300cc secondaries, thin out the wiring harness of the sequential stuff, and maybe paint some stuff like the UIM and LIM.
Now look what it's turned into! I've gone single turbo, rebuilt the motor with ALS seals and all new gaskets, overhauled the fuel system with all braided stainless AN hose and fittings, ID2000 secondaries, new FPR, custom wiring harness, aftermarket oil cooler setup with braided SS AN hose and fittings, ducted aluminum v-mount, ACT clutch and lightweight fly, MSD CDI ignition system, and more stuff I'm probably forgetting. Talk about "Doing it while you're in there" haha!
Now look what it's turned into!
