Haha I deleted everything except for the ISC. I think you'll have a hard time getting a stable idle without the ISC, Eduardo.
Or you will nail the idle, but when the environment changes (i.e. temperature, pressure, humidity, etc) it will go to shit.

Well I obviously removed the pump, cooler, and all lines, and drained all fluid from the rack.
I was planning on removing the rack and pulling it apart to remove the seals and weld the quill shaft to lock it up and make the rack a true manual rack. But, after moving the wheel around as-is, I'm not convinced I need to go through all that work.

Got my turbo in. So without further ado, here she is!

If you can't tell from the pictures it's a Garrett T04S 60-1. However, this turbo is from the XS Engineering kit so it has been significantly modified. Dual ball-bearing, oil and liquid cooled CHRA. Rebuilt with a Stage3 compressor wheel (3"/76mm exducer 2 9/32" inducer), P-trim turbine wheel in a 1.00 A/R twin scroll divided housing. Only drawback in the housing has a 2-bolt turbine discharge flange I would have preferred v-band but it comes with a bolt-in downpipe so I don't care that much.
I'm anticipating with my twin scroll manifold for this thing to move. Full spool by 3500rpm or so. Previous owner made 465rwhp at 19psi on pump gas; 522rwhp at 22psi on C16. I plan on running close to 17-20psi when fully tuned and setup.
I couldn't be happier because I think this is going to be a perfect turbo for street/strip and should be a beast. Spool isn't too bad especially given this turbos power capabilities (65lbs/min at 2.25pr). Much better and less restrictive (i.e. more reliable) than stock twins.

I believe it's the same CHRA and hotside as a 500R but a slightly larger compressor, so it should spool just a few hundred (if even) RPM slower but make more power.
Guy was a drag racer so he had it since 2005 but only put about 3000 miles on it after he got it rebuilt in 05. The turbo spins so freely and has absolutely ZERO shaft play, so little it's not even worth checking.
Got the rest of the stuff for the kit such as the manifold, dump pipe, all AN fittings and braided hose for the oil and coolant, and he even threw in a few t-bolt clamps, a brand new flange from RB for the midpipe, all hardware, and the turbo has a -6AN fitting in the compressor housing and a hose for a boost controller of something. Pretty slick.
Only thing I'm missing now is the downpipe. Should have been today, but it isn't, so now I have to wait until Tuesday thanks to the Holiday weekend. Oh well, not like I'm in a rush LOL

Worked a little on cleaning stuff up last night and tonight. Got the t-stat housing separated from the water neck, and the water pump as well. Went to remove the radiator cap piece and a stupid bolt broke off inside the aluminum, and it broke pretty flush with the housing so no change to get it in the vise and spin it out. It's also pretty small so I don't think I can drill it out.
I don't have a set of Easy Outs (doh!), but I also messed up the t-stat housing attempting to remove the AST nipple and marring it to hell. So now I'm just debating ordering a brand new t-stat housing for $92 bucks from Mazdatrix and starting over. Plus, the new one will be clean haha.
Starting scrubbing some of the rotor housing/plates and removing all old gasket material, water jacket o-rings, etc. Found out a MAP gas torch makes for quick removal of said gasket goop haha. One housing cleaned up easily but the other has more dried on oil and shit on it so it's going to take a more hardcore cleaning. Hopefully I can find a place up here that can hot tank some pieces?
I've also been reading as much as I can about porting and watching videos, hoping to gain some knowledge on the process. I really want to attempt it myself, I'm just nervous (and rightly so) of destroying some good housings. I wish I had a junk housing to practice on. Otherwise I have to ship the housings to Texas to BDC for porting.
Other than that, that's all the progress here. The Defined V-Mount kit should be here in a couple of weeks so I'm excited for that!
