Dot 3 synthedic I don't remember the brand.

It is the same stuff I used the last time I messed with the brakes. I think it is almost a year old, could that be the problem?

Yeah, it has probably gone bad...even with a cap on the fluid attracts moisture and dirt. I think brake fluid only has a shelf life of around six months. :( Might want to flush it again and use new fluid. But you could try bleeding it more like you said and see if that helps...

I replaced the fluid in the system. I also replaced the line to from the body to the axle since I had all the fluid drained. The car stops on a dime now. I was having trouble with the clutch last week so I changed out that fluid and it works great now as well. I used Gunk High Performance fluid (Boiling Point 401 F).

Update: The rear brakes are working great. I do need to adjust the parking brake cables a little, they are not tight enough. When I'm on a hill and the car has sat over night and I get in the car in the morning, the car will move a few inches.

Next on the list is the Heater Control Valve. I am having problems with the windows fogging up and I can smell coolant. I thought it might have been the heater core but as I was reading about it, I read that the core rairly goes and the valve is usually the problem. I looked under the dash and the valve has coolant seeping from it. I will be ordering the new one tomorrow.

When I do the Heater Control Valve I will also be changing out my water pump and housing, put freeze plugs in the intake water pasages.

I have an FC water pump and housing. On the FC RX-7 the housing it aluminum so it is lighter and stays cooler.

My electric fan relay kit is in at Checker (this is what it looks like) and my heater control valve will be here on Friday.

I'm going to start working on this on Friday.

The car is back together after 3 days of work. The heater control valve was not a fun project but it seems to be working good now. That alone took me half a day. My electric fan looks and works great, it fit on the car perfectly with only one bracket and a few holes to drill for the install. The wiring for the fan took a lot of time because I tapped it into the factory wiring harness so it looks and functions like a factory installed setup. The water pump housing worked great and was drop in with weeks of planning. I had to drill and tap into the back of the WP housing for the electric fan temp censer and that worked great but was a PITA. The water pump I had was out of a salvage yard and turned out to be bad but by some miracle they had one at Checker so I now have a new one. I had to get an FC alternator bracket because the bracket form the FB hit the distributer, thanks to Drifter for that he saved my day.

I will get some pics up tomorrow.
