So let see.... 64 miles from my house to the Gas station near GOTG off I-25. 1/4 of a 15 gal tank is 3.75 gal. So that would put me at 64miles/3.75gal. = 17.0667. That's an opproximation. I actually had less than 1/4 of a tank so my gas mileage was better than 17mpg. If we drove like old people it probably would have been better. So that's better than the 12-13 MPG I had the last Springs meet.

Well on the highway I average about 20mpg. From here to Dallas is a little over 700 miles and I managed just over 2.5 tanks. But since then I've been getting horrid gas mileage.

Sorry if i offend Huzer, just making acronim jokes...
The move of the exhaust port is an emissions thing, not a mileage thing. It completely wiped out exhaust/intake overlap and that was the biggest killer for the rotary engines and US epa laws.

No offense taken at all. My coworker referred to it as 'Still Another Asinine Bastard". Ohhhhhhh-kay. I was referring more to the V8 hatred.

And yup, one of the downfalls of the rotary is still that it doesn't get great mileage. Doesn't bother me, though.

ahhh gotchya. That's pretty gay. I don't know much about rx8s. I don't mind them but i wouldnt want to spend that much on one. I'm a heb, i guess. That and if i were to spend a ton of money on a car i'd get a fd.
