The parts are ordered. I ordered the calipers, brackets, and rotors through RockAuto.com and the pads and hardware kit through mazdatrix.com.

RockAuto saved me over $100 over Checker. I payed about $65 + $25 core for each caliper and they wanted $113 + $35 core at Checker. I'm Guessing the car will be down til the begining of next week.

Also I ordered the Hawk HPS pads so I'm set.

My new rotors and one caliper are here. The rest is out for delivery so I will be puting it all back together tonight. I also bought the red caliper paint kit from checker so I will be doing that as well.

Now I just need to figure out how I've going to get the brakes bled by myself, so if anyone is board tonight I could use a little help.

Go buy some speedbleeders, or one of those one-man vacuum pumps. You do have heat in that garage, right? Brrrrr!

No heat in the garage but it stays ok. I do have a few small electric heaters.

I would get one of those but I have no way of getting to the parts store. The wife's does not have to go to the meeting tonight so I could get her to help.

Thanks to Alex for the help last night but still no brakes. I was trying to save the original lines because they still look to be in good shape. The problem turns out that they are seized to the calipers and hard lines. We messed with it for a while and after he left I tried a little longer with no luck. I did spray a load of PB Blaster on everything. I also sprayed some more this morning so we will see.

Well I went to Plan B. I ordered a set of SS lines from Mazdatrix. They should be here on mon. or tues. I'm still going to try and salvage the lines tonight but we will see.

Also I smashed my finger real good last night and it is still hurting a lot this morning.

Kasmuir asked me through PM a number of questions on the motor pulling and install that I thought it would be a lot of help for others. I will put the key points on here.

If you don't already have a factory service manual you can get it here: http://foxed.ca/foxed/index.php?page=rx7manual

most of the removal is really the same as any other motor. I pulled the tranny with the motor and that helped.

You should be able to get most of the way with the FSM. Any RWD car is much easier than a FWD or AWD car. I assume you don't have to worry about emissions.

Most of the removal is real easy. Start by draining all fluids, etc. Remove fan, shroud, radiator. Remove oil cooler (I would soak in PB blaster) you don't want to mess this up, is very expensive. Remove alernator, smog pump, AC stuff. The distributer has TDC marks on it so no worries there. The intake has 4 bolts and 2 studs (a lot of people miss this). Exhaust is 4 studs. Rats nest is not hard to remove (Removing the Rats Nest). TDC is not marked on the crank, only on the pully. I know the manual cars have a flat spot on the flywheel that matches with inspection cover on the pasanger side of the motor for TDC.

Get masking tape and label where all the wires go before you pull any. Take lots of pics.

The pilot bearing on the FBs can be a PITA. Also the hardest part will be the nut on the backside of the crank, it is a 2 1/8". I know they sell it at Sears. Also a stopper for the flywheel to make getting the nut off easier.

these sites will help with parts:

I got everything pulled out yesterday and I installed all but the calipers and lines. The lines will be here today woo hoo. I'll get pics up when I'm done.

I keep going back and forth on if I should do the line that goes from the body to the rear diff. I may just wait till I do the front. When I do the front I will be changing over to motorcraft synthedic fluid so I will be draining the whole system at that time.

The car is back together. I took a few pics of it, I will get them posted tomorrow. UPS didn't show untill 7:30 last night which sucked.

I think I need to bleed the brakes a little better. The feel a little spungy. I will work on that tonight.

What kind of brake fluid did you use?
