Time-serts look very sturdy, might have to do that.

Time-sert ftmfw! Used it on for a spark plug hole that was stripped. Worked like a charm.

haha millertime we have the same exact 2 cars. FD and 325xi

Me too, I'm just waiting on borgwarner to ship out some more turbos. It seems everyone wants em haha. Turblown was already waiting 3 weeks when I put my order in early May. I was told probably soon... maybe haha. It will be worth the wait.

Im thinking of just ordering a GM 3bar sensor so I don't have to do a complete retune if i want to go past what the stock MAP sensor can do.

shouldn't have to re-tune, PIM voltage and just run the map to whatever PSI PIM voltage you want. all you would need is the map input to read the new sensor and it should be ok. to be safe, it would be best to do it all with the 3 bar.

If you get a GM 3-bar (I've got one if you want it, it's at Don's shop right now though, just switched it out) You don't have to retune but you'll have to adjust the map scaling

Just to let you know, the stock map sensor read to 17PSI at sea level.

so 14.7 + 17 = 31.7 absolute pressure reading limit

31.7 - 11.7 = 20 PSI.

you can boost 20PSI at 6,300ft above sea level as the max limit the stock map sensor can read.

You were in the military, Geoff? I didn't know that.

Jason, any idea on expected wait time for the turbo? I'm eager to see how it performs.
