yah i never realized installing a motor was more than just throwing it in...(note of sarcasm)

but seriously. Cosmo clip.

or seriously....13B single turbo/peripheral port....then you will have an RX8 worth driving.

or copy chickenwafers Rx8 cause its pretty much the most B.A. Rx8 ive not yet seen in person lol.

Well you're the one that said a rebuilt 20b is "only" $5k or something. I just want to make sure people realize it costs MUCH more than just buying an engine and some parts.

Swapping in a 13B-REW or 13B-RE would be cool, but again, you're looking at a minimum of $15k for the swap.

I just don't think people give the Renesis enough credit. An engine swap ISN'T the only way to make an RX-8 fast...

for the average person...15k would be around what it would cost. I'm thinking in terms of..."i know a lot of old engineers who do this as their after 5 hobby"

labor is pricey...refurbished hardware is cheap...tuning at a good tuners place is cheap too...tuning at a commercial place is mucho $$$

oh..and a 20b IS only 5k lol...

its like saying...my xbox only cost $300...ok, and my games cost $50 each. but im not talking about the games, im just giving the price of the xbox.

yeah but what good is a 5k dollar engine that you can't install unless you have x, y and z and 2/3s more money.

think of it as a puzzle. in order to complete a puzzle you have to have all of the pieces. the 20b engine (while an important piece) is just a piece and without the rest of the puzzle it will never be complete.

But that doesn't help you to have a 3-rotor engine sitting in your garage, LOL.

It's like buying an xbox (to use your example) and not owning a TV....
