I've tried different coils and I replaced the starter. I haven't tested the coils this time, but I figured between two or three different sets I should find a good set lol.
I've gotten some work done but I don't remember everything haha. I took the fuel lines to Whisler Bearing the other day and they quoted me $666.66 to make them out of teflon with SS hose ends. Ummmmmmm, I'll pass, for a couple reasons lol. I emailed Chris to see what kind of price he could do for me and he said he'd work up a quote for me. Whisler is still holding onto my list just in case I call back and have them make them.
I swapped the pumps and had to reuse my old terminals in the CJ Motorsports pump hanger connectors, so Jesse hooked that up for me.
I made the hardlines for the boost controller solenoid/wastegates. I was going to make them out of SS hardline but I didn't feel like waiting for an order to come in, plus I had some aluminum hardline left over and couldn't see why I couldn't use it on this. I also wrapped them in heat barrier tape like the coolant lines. The two lines that need to accept the hoses were too big for the hoses, so I found some brass barbed nipples that I modified to fit on the ends of the lines and I hope they won't leak haha. They fit pretty tight on there and they don't leak with just lung capacity, but I haven't tried 30psi yet. I tried to tap and die both pieces so they would thread together, but the line kept collapsing, so the brass fitting is just pressed on pretty tight. I might try to use a larger size tap and die to see if I can still get that to work, at least for the assurance that it won't blow off with boost pressure. I'll take a pic of those and post it.
The new chassis harness came in today and I noticed that one of the wires for the passenger side ABS sensor connector had been clipped or something, and another wire was missing altogether. I took my old harness and the new one to Jesse's and we got it all fixed up. Hopefully anyway. I plan to install it tomorrow and maybe start getting the dash back in.
While I was at Jesse's we also pulled the unneeded vacuum nipples from the JDM UIM I'm going to use. I'm going to tap the holes and install setscrews. I have a brass barbed nipple that I should be able to put into the larger nipple we took out, and I found the right plug on Amazon (
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/ ... dition=new), but I need to find the right tap. One forum says that you can use a regular 1/8 NPT tap, but I need to verify that first. I may just put a regular setscrew in there since I don't ever plan to use it again.
Tom called this afternoon to say my secondary fuel rail and LIM are ready for pickup. I still need to take the fuel rails to Ximpak to get hard anodized, but they were closed by the time Tom called me, so I guess that'll be Monday. At least I'll be able to reinstall the turbo, LIM, UIM, etc, and get the end tanks mocked up for the new IC. I'll have to call Mitch to see if he can come over this weekend.
I got new EGT sensors (upgraded extreme duty racing versions) because Tom messed up one of the fittings on the old ones when he was welding the hole on the turbo manifold lol. I ran the new sensors last night and put the K-type ends on them.
I also plan to build the battery tray tomorrow and install that and the new battery. Busy day tomorrow, I'm stoked! I'd say we should do another maintenance day, but I won't get anything done if we do that lol. As much as I'd love to see everyone.
