headed to the darkside...
some newer coupe, think it was an a6 of some sort, turbo sounded nice and loud. Headlights sure looked good disappearing into my mirrors too... With any luck this setup should push over 425 or so.

Dang, that thing is loud! 10 second car eh? Paul Walker still owes Dom one of those I think...keep yours under lock and key.
So why n2o vs a supercharger? What did you need to do to get the engine ready to handle the gas? (thanks in advance. I know a guy did N2O in an avalanche without doing anything else internally, but that just doesn't seem right).

It went 10's with a completely stock 70,000 mile LS1. Nothing but a 150 shot of nitrous, ran it like that for 2 years. Its built now with Wiseco pistons, Eagle h-beam rods, ARP rod bolts/headstuds,and a small bump in compression, along with heads, cam, and headers to top it off. Hoping to break into the single digits this time around! Would never supercharge anything. Turbo, yes, but I'm on a budget and would never have the time to fabricate a turbo setup for this thing.

heads, cam, lifters, pushrods, chain & oil pump all finished and it lives again!
Now for the tedious break in, Should have it out this friday for the meet if anybody else is up and the weather isnt shit.

couldnt make it out because as it turns out im fairly confident the engine has a rod knock. Top end sounds real nice but after it warms up to operating temp it has a very alarming tick after 1500rpm down in the bowels of the block. no major shavings in the pan or on the plug magnet but theres nothing else it could be, the top end is fresh. So ill be savin up for a short block, thinkin bout a 383 stroker kit, they seem to be goin for about 3500.

That's terrible man. My last motor, after the nitrous backfire made an awful knocking sound as well. Thats why I pulled it and went with the new build but when I took the old motor apart every bearing was like new still. I never wanted to risk ending up the same way doing all the work thinking it was the top end and finding out it wasn't, even though it looks like mine was just a lifter after all. Look around you can probably even pick up a 402 or even a 408 short block (if you don't mind a tad bit heavier iron block) for a good price.
