Smoking tips

Postby Army RX8 » Fri Dec 12, 2008 9:14

So there i was, drove up to the gas station on post this morning bout 9 ish for some smokes and a drink. When i got out i noticed that my left tail pipe was smoking like the car was still running. The right was smoking but not as much. i saw what looked like oil or dirty thick water slowly working its way out of my pipes. Went in for my smokes when i came out they were still smoking but barely. Checked my oil no issue, no difference in driving. Could it just be because maybe they were a lil hot? Never seen this before.

As far as your tips smoking, I would say due to the cold recently that might have an effect. Did it smell like nething?

Not sure. I don't think I have ever seen my 8 do this before (never really payed attention either). Since its been so cold I am guessing that is probably the issue.

If you are not noticing any change in performance then you should be good. Maybe check underneath your car from the exhaust tips all the way back. If your exhaust is glowing red you have a problem, but again if your car is performing well, I doubt that is it.
