Holy depreciation!

I just picked up an Automart on the way out of Safeway yesterday and was flipping through. Noticed more than a couple of 04/05 RX8s listed at dealerships (Lakewood, Don Massey, etc) for under $11k. Wow. That's just horrible.

WOW, I guess I am not surprised though. Go to ebaymotors and look at FD RX7s. They are just as cheap if not less. I was tempted to buy one at one point, but it only has two seats and the wife was not fond of that.

Well, I guess I'm not THAT shocked, it had just been a while since I looked up prices on the car. Glad I bought it as my "keeper/fun" car.

Yea I bought my '04 with 34k miles and $5k worth of mods for 13k in CA.

The blue book for GTs is considerably higher, in the 14-15kish range

If you can find an FD for around $11k, you should definitely get it. Tell your wife it's a collectible and it can only go up in value.

There are so many factors that determine the price of an FD, but most go for around $12k-$20k. Still, that's a 15-year-old car we're talking about. They've held their value amazingly well compared to a 4-year-old RX-8 at the same price.

Getting an FD is out of the question for me. I would have to pay off my 8 first and that is about a year and a half away.

True, the RX8 is doing horrible when it comes to holding value. I bought my 8 on 14 Sep 07, 2005, GT with 13000 miles for 20,500. Now I could probably get the same 8 for a couple thousand less than that:mad:

No matter how much the RX8 depreciates, I won't care. I have had mine for over a year and I still cannot wait to drive it to work, home and I always volunteer to run any errand for my wife. I don't think I will ever be over the excitement:D

Sorry for the long post, but try not driving your rotary for 3 months (thats how long I was in school for the Army). I had to drive a ford focus rental for 3 months and could not wait to get home and back to my 8. Nothing compares!!!

My '06 Speed 6 is barely at $20k for private party. Trade in is around $17k....I feel your guys' pain.

My car is worth $4k fully restored, haha. I have over 8k into it now and will be at 12k+ when I'm done.

At least it doesn't have the depreciation of a Saab. Haha! Or with gas prices the way they were, of a full size truck. If you need one, there are major deals to be had!

I hear ya man. I haven't driven my FD since September and I can't wait to get it back out of the shop. I hate daily driving an SUV

Definitely. My dad just picked up an '08 F250 Power Stroke with most of the options for $30k. Ford is really hurting...I wonder how much revenue they make off their trucks these days...
