Cleaning fogged headlights?

I notice a hazy film on my headlight covers - I assume the problem is on the inside so how does one go about getting in there to clean the backs of the headlight covers without ruining the seal? Or do I have to buy new ones (or live with it)? I did scrub the front side rather well and it did help some but the hazy milky film was back in a day or so.

Try the plastic polish from mothers supposedly works really good.

Havn't had that on my car. If I did it's covered up by the Lamin-X now. I heard somewhere that that happens when you have your headlights on during the day. Something with the sun hitting it and the lights on. IDK. Just what I heard. I hate daytime running lights.

I know in our RX8 we had moisture build up in the tail lights and they replaced that under warranty.. but I'm not sure about the headlights.

You should try to polish the outside first with a product called Flitz. You can get it at most auto parts stores or hardware stores. Basically rub it on then wipe it off while its still wet.

There is also an issue with condensation in the headlights in these cars. Not quite as much as the taillights, however. I used a couple different products on the exterior of the lenses before I discovered it was all on the inside. If you do have marring on the outside, try Meguiars PlasticX or a headlight polishing kit. Generally, those will include some 2000+ grit sandpaper, some polish, and a couple of cloths. The PlasticX worked decent, the kit worked better.
