You are cordially invited to help Shadow eliminate the unsightly wheel gap on his S2000 on May 17, 2014 at 9:30 am. A secondary advantage to this is that i plan to attend the track day on the 23rd, but I won't go with wheel gap. I just can't have people pointing and laughing at my stagecoach.

Unsightly wheel gap will be eliminated by installing Swift Spec R springs. The procedure is time consuming but not overwhelmingly demanding technically.

Food will be provided at lunch time. If you can come and help, it would be greatly appreciated.

I anticipate having all 4 wheels off the ground and work ready to proceed by 9:00 am. Come as you are available.

The reason for the early start time (relative to what I think most of you are used to) is the opportunity to get an alignment done that same day. If 9 am is too early and detracts om help, please let me know. I suspect that if we get several guys willing to work on their own corners that we can be done by 12:00.

I also would like to know this so I can "rent" a couple spring compressors.

Sorry, I already have plans for that day. However, having just done shocks on the RX-8, I recommend you have an impact wrench to tighten down those coil compressors. Its probably not the safest thing to do, but it'll really speed up the process (5 minutes to zip em down instead of an hour and a half using a box wrench and a vice)

Good tip. I agree it isn't the safest, but I reluctantly went that way when I swapped the springs on my MZ3. I used an air ratchet though.

It does remind me that I should seek to borrow my neighbor's impact wrench, though I still tend to use hand tools far more.

I'll be working but if anybody is helping from the springs I have a couple air impacts I can send with them.

I can bring my electric impact with me if you want. I used it when I did the springs on the Volvo. Man, the XC had some looooooong springs.

Electric will be better than running off my smallish compressor. I hate listening to that thing fill the tanks. And it would do it a lot while using an impact.

I'd love to stop by, but unfortunately I won't be back until the 19th!
