Colorado Mazda Club held it's 1st Annual Toy drive for Childrens Hospital of Denver on December 1st 2007. The group decided to meet up for lunch in Westminster at the Buffalo Wild Wings, then afterwards gathered all the toys and other goodies for the kids. We raised about $200 worth of toys including, tonka trucks, coloring books and crayons, baby wipes, baby blankets,barbies, and many other toys. Myself, Tricia, and a couple other members of CMZC drove down to the brand new Childrens Hospital of Denver off of 225 and Colfax. Once we arrived we were greeted by a very nice lady that gave us some information about what the kids have done for the day. Then to end off a great day we were escorted to a volunteer center where we dropped off all the toys and goodies for the kids. We will be doing this every year on the first Saturday of December from now on, as this was a great experience!


I will post pictures up tonight once I get home of the meet and the toys that we gathered.

I had to run to Ft. Collins otherwize I could've tagged along.

It was so awesome inside that hopsital, it didn't even feel like a hospital at all. If I remember right as we were walking in the front door Scott made the comment that we were walking into the Hilton Hotel. lol. They have fish tanks on every floor, and in the main lobby they had a bunch of soririty girls making paper bag puppets with the kids. It is just amazing what they do for the kids there. And the lady told us that the morning we were there they had a huge Breakfast thing with their parents, so they had a very fun and busy day that day.

if you had said there would be sorority girls there, I am sure more of the male members would've showed up.

well I didn't know that until we got there, plus that's not the best reason to go to help out ill kids.

but its a good reason! +100 to guido.

lol i would have gone but i had a ton of stuff going on sorority girls might have made me get the other stuff done faster to make it up J/K BTW Awesome job to everyone who did this i wish i could have gone up

Next year we could do a toy drive in the Springs for people that can't make it to Denver. The people going to Denver could bring the toys up with them.

That's a great idea!! Always have your's the day before us, and then whoever wants to drive to Denver for ours could just bring the toys! Excellent idea Chris!

That works, that will be the yearly plan.

sounds good, if we are going to do that, then we need to have the Springs Toy drive on the first Saturday of December, and the Denver Toy Drive on the first Sunday of December. It will be a two day event!
