Hey guys,

I am not sure if it's just me, but that cruise to Bishop castle half failed for me.

We lacked organization, the cruise was maybe too long, and we didn't get to socialize or do any kind of activities beside following the Zed crew. Okay, I know it was a farewell cruise for Robert, but lets not repeat the same mistakes again.

Myself and other core members of CMZC can probably cope with it, but I think that this is a "first and last cruise" for some less enthusiastic members and future members.(Yeah, I felt quite back for Cexy7 who tagged along on a rather straining cruise with her baby).

I all in for more localized meetings for maybe a drink, or we can do canyon runs, drive through mountain passes, hike, run track or go kart events etc...

Anyways, I don't mean to rant, but merely input suggestions to improve these meetings.

If anyone got suggestions or photos from this cruise, please post!

-Bi

I agree...a shorter blast through the canyons up this way, followed by a beer/food would be a better weekend thing that the all day cruise to the Springs adventure. I had to cut short because of work this afternoon, but I still had fun going on the first stretch of the legs for the RX-8. I was surprised to look down at one point and see triple digit speeds. Sooooooo smooth. Loved it!

I've gone on a few other cruises with some different clubs here, a lot of back canyon stuff out past Boulder. We stopped a lot for photos, stopped when we found interesting sites, etc. Let's work on getting a nice local cruise sometime. I'm definitely game for that.

Hey, don't feel bad for me.. I had fun! Yeah it was a little (ok a lot) longer of a drive then I was expecting. But the baby did better then I haha. That wind was killing me, worst gas mileage I have ever gotten in that thing. And man you guys and GAL with your cars made me miss my "Zoomie" so much.
But I did want to add that I really appreciated you guys looking out for me, and making sure I didn't get left behind. I'm so glad to have found a group with some down to earth people in it. I'm HOOKED! You can't get rid of me very easily... now I just need to get a job so I can get me a speed3 and keep up with you guys!!

Yeah it was super long really super long lol... total of 345 miles for me I'm glad you had fun though either traveling with us or during the whole thing.

The wind, the sand, the runaway bushes hitting your car running at 100mph, the ornament of splattered bugs on your front bumpers... the list goes on.

The interstate sucks!

The only fun part was the twisties for me [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img]

This cruise was defiantly brutal, but in all we did a rather good job on sticking together for the most part. Glad to see everyone again and to finally meet Trish (sp?). But yeah no more long cruises, but even for our next cruise we should have walkie-talkies for everyone so it wont be a quite boring ride. I did have fun though! Great time for the most part.

Edit: Oh and Anh Bi i completely agree that it sucks we never got a chance to stop and chat ect. Something that cruise defiantly needed.

yep thats my name.... also I agree on the walkies.. good idea to have.. I was actually going to ask, what brand are yours, or do they even have to be the same brand?

It would be nice if everyone pitches in for a set of 4-6 same walkie-talkies so we can be all on the same frequency.
I am sure we can find some cheap short range ones, but we all need to be able talk on the same frequency.

Copy that? [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img]

I think mine are motorola but they do not need to be the same brand, just same channel. Like today i brought a pair and Jack had one so myself, Josh, and Jack had a walkie-talkie; two different brands but on the same channel so it works.

Anh, some good points you made there. Can't say much as I missed all the driving. I have to say the part I attended was enjoyable, it was
great to finally meet the new faces of CMZC (except Angie j/k). Hang out and socialize.... it what I think is the best part about this club.
Trish is right, you are a good bunch of people (except Josh j/k) and why I continue to stick my nose in every thread I can.

So to summarize, the next time you have a shorter local cruize I will make every effort to attend. [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img] but 320 miles is a bit much for me. Whoa!
