Idea's for future meets

The VW groups are getting a kickball game together. I think it would be fun if we could get our CMZC team together and kick their butts!!

For those seeking a long cruise to maybe go camping, I'd suggest a run down to the Great Sand Dunes National Monument.

Although for the price of an SCCA autox, you can do a session (maybe 2) of good karting at The Track or Erie IMI. The only downside is that you don't get to drive your own car.

A NASA track event would also be cool, but I suspect that the ~$150 entry fee + $65 membership fee would keep it a small meet.

SCCA is like $40 bucks right. $30 to race and $10 for non member to get a weekend membership? Karting is like $7 a lap with a ten lap minimum I believe.

I haven't priced SCCA out here, but I thought it was more like $40 to run and however much for a weekend membership. Karting at The Track was like $35 for a 20 minute session. In the $/min ratio, karting is a bargain compared to SCCA. The only downside to karting is that you aren't driving your own car.

Yeah... Sad that money becomes an issue. But it happens with everything we do. However if people want to increase their driving skills, push thier car to it limits safely, and have fun it well worth the invest.

Personally I find it sad that owners of all makes are quick to buy that new CAI for $300+ but refuse to attend a HPDE ($150-$300) to frist learn what the car can do and/or learn that they aren't the great driver that they think. LOL So if anyone ever has a chance to attend a HPDE I highly encourage skipping that next mod and going.

The only reason the Bishop's Castle Run didnt turn out that great for a lot of us was because we didnt realize how long of a cruise that was going to turn into. A lot of the Denver guys had to be back early to go to work that night. Other then that I personally thought it would have been a nice cruise if I was more planned ahead of time, and knew what I was in for. lol

IMO...If we plan a cruise that takes a lot of gas and time, we ought to turn it into an overnighter. Then that way for those who are expecting to come back to town by a certain time knows what will happen.

Here's a less expensive idea. It requires a boat. Does anyone have a boat? We could hang out at Cherry Creek or Chatfield, do some boating, waterskiing, BBQ, etc.

If nobody has a boat, we could chip in and rent one if anyone knows how to drive it.
