Sorry I bailed early. Wife started to get a migraine so we wanted to head back in case it got worse. She was getting a little car sick through the twisties too so that's why I backed off a bit. I'm definitely glad I went with the performance winter tires. They are tons better on dry pavement than the all out snow/ice tires I used to run on my SRT-4.

Yea that was me. We had just turned around at that point. Me and the 83 RX-7 got stuck behind a pickup and fell way behind too.

I was wondering why you stopped. I don't think we could have caught back up even if we tried.

Well Zico and I discovered last night that the ECU is the culprit.

We were in the Red Robin parking lot until about 8pm when his boss got there with the truck and trailer. We got it home around 815 and he started troubleshooting some more. He swapped in a stock ECU and it fired right up. His body wiring harness runs over the front passenger side wheel and the clip holding the wire to the fender had broken and it had been rubbing on the tire for a while. Our guess is that when he pulled out onto Jamboree and hit the bump pretty hard, it most likely touched two wires that had no shielding left and fried the ECU. We're going to check to make sure first though.

What a long day. Glad you guys had fun haha. I'd like to try again for those of us that didn't make it (well, Zico and I haha, and Morris, John and whoever else), as long as the weather holds up. I'm shooting for this month still, because of weather and the fact that I'll be starting NCO Academy 5 Nov and I won't have any time until 17 Dec. Anyone up for another run? Maybe some different roads?

I'll post my pics in the other thread tonight when I get home.

I ordered a new oil cooler today, hopefully it's here by this weekend and I can swap out the leaking one and be ready for a cruise. I absolutely forgot about it, so I guess it's a good thing I didn't make the cruise, since the cooler is right in front of the passenger side tire and spraying oil everywhere haha.

texas!?! only steers and queers come from texas and you dont look like a steer so that narrows it down! j/k Full Metal Jacket is a great movie though. I dont think this weekend will be as cruise worthy as the last but im up for a friday night thing if we dont get too burried in snow or whatnot.
