Calling Plasti Dip Experts!!!

Postby I`m Batman » Mon Apr 29, 2013 9:14

So, I've decided that I want to Plasti Dip my whole bike (All the fairings and the tank). Any idea on how much I need? Just one color. Black. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

Let's dip er'!

A bike won't take much, and you can do it with cans which you can buy local... I think 4-6 cans would be enough

I bought a few cans of these to test http://www.homedepot.com/p/Performix-Brand-11-oz-Plasti-Dip-Black-Rubber-Coating-Spray-11203-6/100131010#.UYPYOsruxmo
Will this work or do I need to get a different kind?
What about gloss finish? Do I need to get gloss finish?

yup those are perfect.
the finish depends on if you want matte (as-is) or if you want some shine to it, you can always add gloss later if you want to... btw did you see any gloss cans when you bought that black?

I think you can order the gloss from dipyourcar.com if you wanted it to shine. I think matte is the way to go for everything. I ordered matte white for mine which should be here Tuesday. Lets have a dip day.....

That sounds disgusting

One complaint I heard from a guy who did gloss over his bike dip, is that it has a tacky feel/texture to it...

That's strange. But you would know better than I would. My first time really working with plastidip will be next weekend.
