Oh man, I'll be checking this out for a while, a lot of that is new to me. Ken Burn's WWII documentary made it real (not just history), but these photos add more substance to that picture in my mind.

My great grandfather had a camera when he fought in WW1 in France and took a bunch of pics. I need to see if I can find the scans.

I've got a bunch of WWII pics from my dad...he was on a B17 and a member of the Lucky Bastards Club. His crew in the 447th was the first to complete 30 missions.
